Originally from Chicopee, he now resides in Wilbraham, MA on his 82-acre fruit orchard where he enjoys spending time tending to his farm. He also enjoys outdoor sporting activities along with working on old cars and motorcycles. He loves spending time with his family, including his parents and his dog Missy. Following the completion of Dental School, he completed a two year Pediatric Dental residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan and the University of Detroit Mercy. Children’s Hospital of MI is an inner city hospital and primary trauma center which provided him with experience in treating all types of pediatric dental cases.
Upon graduating, he bought an existing pediatric dental practice. It didn’t take long for the practice to more than double in size which lead him to expand his Kids Dentist into West Springfield, MA and more recently, KD Orthodontics.
He describes himself as a life-long learner and considers himself fortunate to have selected a profession where there are always opportunities to improve his skills, both clinically and in the best ways to care for children. Dr. Matthews seeks out career development opportunities for himself and his staff on a continuous basis.
